What is the value of the REALTORS® Association?

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) serve as the professional organization for real estate agents and brokers. NAR, the South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) and Central Carolina REALTORS® Association (CCRA) provides a variety of resources and benefits to its members, such as:

1. Education and Training: The Association offers courses and seminars to help members stay current on industry trends, regulations and best practices. Further, CCRA provides continuing education courses to all members free of charge.
2. Professional Development: Association membership provides opportunities for members to network and connect with other professionals in the industry at the local, state and national levels, which can be beneficial for building business relationships and staying informed about the latest developments and trends.
   
3. Industry Representation: The local, state and national associations advocate for their members on a variety of issues, such as legislation and regulations that affect the industry. They also provide a unified voice for the industry in discussions with government officials, consumers and other stakeholders. The REALTORS® are the only association that advocates for homeowners before governmental and regulatory bodies.
   
4. Industry Standards: NAR establishes and maintains professional standards and ethical guidelines for its members through the Code of Ethics, which help to ensure that REALTORS® are providing high-quality services to their clients compared to non-REALTORS®.
   
5. Access to Resources and Technology: The Association offers its members access to a variety of resources, such as data and analytics, marketing materials and online tools to help them succeed in their business. All members have the exclusive right from NAR to call themselves REALTORS®.

Overall, the REALTORS® Association serves to protect and promote the interest of its members, helping them to achieve their professional goals, and the interests of the industry as a whole. NAR, SCR and CCRA help to maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity within the industry, and provide a valuable resource for consumers searching for trustworthy and experienced real estate professionals.        

New Member Check List

Step 1: Come to New REALTOR® Orientation

All new members must attend the New REALTOR® Orientation within 90 days of joining the Association. This class will go over the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and all the things your CCRA and REALTOR® membership make available to you. If you cannot attend your orientation within 90 days, contact CCRA staff for assistance.

NOTE: All REALTORS® must take NAR Code of Ethics training every 3 years to remain in good standing with the Association.
